While working on my final animation project, I also have been taking breaks and working on my own personal project that tends to be my little escape. There's a whole world that I've designed but a lot of it is all in my head and I recently have set out to put it on paper and bring forth some visuals. I remembered when I went for a tour at Yeti Farm Creative long ago and was advised to work on my own stuff and not to shut it out because that's what started my passion for the industry in the first place. This has been a struggle for me as I was raised to prioritize ANYTHING but my drawings. These words inspired me as I went about to design one of many species of my fictional winged race, Karsians. So here's a Karsian jungle lady. I imagined them to be a lot like indigenous tribes in the Caribbean and African regions along with a bit of a caveman feel to them. Earthy attire and tropical, colourful wings just like the birds in their habitat. I also was inspired by the all-woman Akashinga elite force that is dedicated to anti-poaching. These Karsians are like the "angels of the Amazon", protecting the animals and expressing much hostility to their enemies. I've been inspired to continue working on bits and pieces of Wolves and Ravens, writing many notes and constructing the plot finally. Hopefully I will be able to bring it to the surface in the near future, be it animated shorts or a graphic novel....or both.
