I landed an amazing opportunity just a couple months after my graduation in the very studio I desired to be in, as an animator for the Hotel Transylvania animated series. This amazing studio and my now lovely family, is known as Yeti Farm Creative.

My first experience in the industry was definitely stressful. I had a lot of very bad habits I picked up within school that weren't corrected. Every animator's style is different so I don't condemn my teachers for teaching me one way only to unlearn it and take on another way. I was greeted with a much more challenging episode with zero junior animation scenes but learned to adapt and learn quickly. However, I was probably the slowest posing artist known to man. My need for perfectionism and approval clashed with my anxiety and uncertainty and I just wouldn't let go of any of my poses until they were absolutely perfect. This slowed me down a lot and affected my progress in my quota. However the staff at Yeti Farm are the most nurturing, supportive people I've ever been around and they walked me through one-on-ones to teach me efficient ways and I slowly learned what was good to submit and what they were looking for.

After 3 months of working, I'm still not extremely confident but I've reached out and got the help I need to progress and improve myself. This is absolutely important. In a studio like Yeti Farm, you can know pretty little of the programs but have a decent grasp on animation or art but you have to want to grow and you have to want to get better. The very reason I aimed for Yeti Farm is their culture of growth and family. I am very dedicated to the studio and I believe other studios should run their system similarly. A transparent communication system that is friendly, casual and comfortable full of support, self-improvement and praise is the very environment everyone deserves to work within. The community is absolutely amazing and the people I work with are so much fun.

Any work that I've done so far won't air until next year most likely but it's very rewarding to see every scene everyone has worked on individually pieced together like a puzzle and presented to us as it will be presented to kids, families and enthusiasts. Animation in-studio is hard work but so extremely rewarding. I continue to look forward in strengthening myself as a Yeti and growing to strengthen and support Yeti and its goals as well. <3
